Role Summary: Our large renewable Energy Company client requires an experienced Business Analyst to join their Wind Energy product area. The company is undertaking an exciting transformation to expand its wind generation capacity and is adding new wind farms in several geographies. They are now looking to select and deploy a new asset Information Management system. The business analyst will be required to work with the key business users of this system, understand and define their use cases, identify the possible systems, and select and deploy the most suitable application with the project team.
Responsibilities:
Requirements Engineering
Elicits requirements at all stakeholder levels.
Leads requirements workshops.
Manages conflict resolution and achieves global consensus.
Refines requirements to eliminate ambiguity, conflict and duplication.
Understands system constraints and opportunities to inform design.
Works with development, design, and architecture on design options, potential systems, and process solutions.
Relationship and Stakeholder Management
Builds intense business intimacy with commercial partners at all levels.
Manages relationships in a global team with a worldwide user community.
Project Delivery
Supports the full project lifecycle, including global delivery and early life support.
Provides quality assurance on analysis deliverables through peer review.
Testing
Collaborates with test teams.
Business Process Change
Leads business process workshops.
Analyses and maps business processes.
Identifies opportunities for process improvements.
Data
Analyses data flows and models data requirements, data standards, and knowledge.
Understanding of data models and database design, as per the wind industry
Analyse and support complex spreadsheets, design documentation and equipment data.
Requirements:
Domain expertise in the wind energy digital systems as an Operator or Turbine Manufacturer.
Extensive knowledge and experience with Asset Information Management, particularly in performance management, asset health, internal reporting, and contractual availability.
Be highly analytical – able to problem solve, absorb large amounts of detail, and see the big picture. Be able to manage conflicting ideas and demands to provide clarity.
Be a good communicator – able to deliver a message effectively and concisely at all levels, on both a technical and a business level. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Be self-motivated and self-starting – able to work with little supervision and pick up new or unfamiliar concepts quickly.
Be confident and demonstrate good judgment.
Build team capability—create knowledge transfer artefacts and perform knowledge transfer. Be an excellent team player and influence others to achieve success.
Familiar with Wind Data standards.
Desirable Skills:
Practical experience of working in an iterative/Agile development environment (including sprint planning, daily scrums, reviews and retrospectives)
Professional accreditation, e.g. Foundation in Business Analysis or ISEB Diploma in Business Analysis
Business Process Management/Lean/Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies
