Role Summary:Our client, an Integrated Energy Company, requires an experienced Product Manager to join their Well Delivery data product area within the Wells & Subsurface digital portfolio. The company is undertaking an exciting transformation and is undergoing a process of maturing their approach to Product Management as part of the wider strategy of re-inventing their business. The Product Manager will be required to drive the development and delivery of Well Delivery data product globally within the company.
Role Responsibilities:- Act as Product Manager for the Well Delivery Data Products.
- Work with Domain Experts to apply business context to solution development and backlog prioritisation.
- Develop Product Road Maps and plans for product deployment at scale.
- Manage multiple stakeholders across business and digital parts of the organisation.
- Create Product Vision Statements.
- Lead and provide mentoring and guidance to development teams on backlog management, User Story Creation, prioritisation, and effort estimation.
- Plan, conduct, and direct the analysis of complex, business problems relating to subsurface data and the tools and systems of record associated with that data.
- Articulate subsurface business requirements and translate to data management/engineering/architecture/Science needs.
- Work with the lead product manager and key wells digital POs to assess identified data priorities and analyse the technical requirements needed to deliver these datasets to the stakeholders and then assist the prioritization of these in the backlog.
- Work with the lead product manager and key wells digital POs to prioritize product features to ensure the requirements are described adequately and are prioritized sufficiently.
- Work directly with data owners to understand regional priorities, their data requirements, and co-ordinates timing of work across teams. Flags any issues/blockers to the product manager.
- Own the data backlog at a feature, PBI and task level, writing clear and concise user stories, acceptance criteria and story pointing as part of Scrum ceremonies.
- Acts as representative to user communities for digital solutions – conduct communications, training and getting support from practitioners through the appropriate forums (e.g. CoP meetings, regional learning sessions, etc.).
- Act as a single point of contact for the well delivery product work for the Lead product manager
Required Skills:
- Experience as a Geoscientist or Well Engineer and a deep understanding of Well delivery data types, well delivery data products (PPFG, Geomechanics, DPZ, etc.) and the associated business workflows and processes.
- Experience in formal scrum-based Product Ownership
- Experience working within an agile environment and scrum framework.
- Experience building product roadmaps.
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Experienced in leading teams.
- Ability to clearly communicate at all levels within an organization.
- Good communicator, especially of complex details and dependencies
- Possess a fundamental understanding of end-to-end customer experience integration and dependencies.
- ‘Hands on’ Subsurface Data Management experience
Desirable Skills:- Experience developing and delivering products supporting the Energy Industry
- Scrum.org PSPO I certification or equivalent, or working towards certification.
- BSc in Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field
