Role Summary
The requirement is specifically for a Rig IT Consultant to assist our client in installing and configuring hardware and software for their Drilling Rig fleet in the Eastern Hemisphere. The role will involve taking end-to-end ownership of the IT technical infrastructure that supports each new drill rig from receipt of hardware in the Aberdeen workshop through to configuration and installation at the rig site.
Role Responsibilities
Assure all technical work is delivered to high standards following Rig in a Box guides and publications.
Adheres to the company’s management process for resolving problems and is assigned to the Rig IT Support team.
Adheres to the Company change management process in communicating and coordinating changes that impact any Company production computing systems.
Liaison with customers to establish requirements, coordinate work, and provide support
Production of design, test, and user documentation
Develop, and implement processes as required to ensure that work is delivered to high standards and review QA/QC processes to enhance performance
Suggest & Implement continuous improvement measures to enhance and improve the service
Required Skills
5 years + of experience in a wide range of computing, data, and telecommunications equipment.
A working knowledge of LAN/WAN data networks, associated cabling infrastructures, and specifications is also required.
Hands-on experience in IT Infrastructure installation and configuration, such as Physical Servers & Networking equipment.
Experience working with digital technology on offshore installations such as mobile rigs/vessels and/or fixed platforms
Valid Offshore Survival Certificate (BOSIET)

Real-Time Drilling Data software experience with oil & gas super major
